Meet Dr. Torres
Dr. Liz was born and raised in Meriden, Connecticut. She is a “Triple Graduate” of the University of Connecticut. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Biological Sciences and graduated Magna Cum Laude and as an Honors Scholar.
She continued at UConn and received her Doctorate of Dental Medicine degree. During dental school, Dr. Liz volunteered her time at Connecticut Mission of Mercy, the Special Olympics of Connecticut, Head Start, and the Inner City Dental Mission. She also provided basic Spanish lessons to fellow students at the dental school. She discovered her love of working with children and making going to the dentist fun for kids through her various rotations at pediatric dental offices during her training.
This led her to complete her Pediatric Dentistry Certification at UConn/Connecticut Children’s Medical Center where she provided treatment to children of all ages, as well as children with special needs and compromising medical conditions. During her training, she attended the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry’s Pediatric Oral Health Advocacy Conference in Washington, D.C., where she advocated for children’s oral health to members of Congress.
In her spare time, Dr. Liz likes to discover new worlds through novels and films, attend musical theater productions, spend time with her family, and travel. She is a second-degree black belt in Tang Soo Do and is fluent in Spanish.
